REMBER ME ?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you think of me when you lie a-bed
wrapped in the busy strands of your life
as proof against what used to be?
Do you remember the lusty, likely lad
I used to be when love and the world
was new and we were young?
Do you ever think of me in the hurly
burly of your day; do you ever long
for days less hectic when love was free?
Do you remember our plans and dreams,
dreamt in the quiet late at night, when
only we were awake and dreaming?
I am no lost lover from the past --
I am your husband. Do you remember me?
I hope she does... if not, she's missing out. True love is the thing that sticks through to the end when all the mystery dies... I'm sure that you will find that her heart, and mind, remember you.
Through all the years and too many tears,
do you remember me.
Words well woven,
wordsy. |
