I stood, looking at the shattered moon,
Waiting for her reply to my query,
She laughed,
And from her antediluvian gaze,
I beheld my unworthiness,
Bright in the darkness,
Exposing me to the world.
I could not hide any longer,
My thoughts were living murals,
Once silent and shrouded,
But now they screamed from the abyss,
Each thrusting theirselves to the foreground,
Of my memory,
Each demanding to be seen,
I was unclad before the heavens,
I could not escape that gaze,
I stood as bare in the bosom of the earth,
As I had when I first entered it.
Each pain,each thought,each word,
Each wicked vision,each vile experience,
Poured from my tortured veins,
Like the squalid orations of a lunaitic,
I regressed,I overcame,I hurt,I healed,
Still I could not escape that gaze.
Each sombre drop of sweat from my,
Weakening being fell as black recollections,
On the rain-spotted grass,
All breading lost demons of crackeling fire,
That covered my dulling senses,
With the choking smoke of denial and regret.
I then beheld my folly,
I wept in my arrogance,
I fell to my knees,
The gaze was no longer upon me,
My question was answered.
I found peace,
Finally,
I found peace.
