Ranting

Blood in my mouth, ringing in my ears,
I try to yell out, hoping someone will hear,
Glass smashed on the floor, like so many dreams,
I try to convince you, it's not as it seems,
I try to be good, by your rules I abide,
All I did was give my friend John a ride,
I tried to drive fast, but it was snowing so bad,
But I made it home quickly, I thought you'd be glad,
But now my head it aches, where you pulled my hair,
There is blood on the landing, from my fall down the stairs,
The way you love me hurts me so much, every time you reach out I cringe from your touch,
My strength has run out now, as I close my eyes,
Is this how you want me? Curled up in the corner, wishing to die?
Well, that's who I WAS and not who I am,
I was hoping you understood when you heard the door slam,
So leave me alone now, It's been so damned long,
And still you refuse to see you were wrong,
Carry on with your life without me by your side,
Go away now, I don't love you, I tried,
I tried to love you back then as well as I could,
I tried to see through all the bad to the good,
But I realize now I had been living a lie,
So go do what you want, stay drunk, stay high,
I turn my back on you now with not so much as a tear,
This time when I say good-bye, I hope that you hear,
Maybe in the future you will mature and become a man,
But even then I won't want you, please understand,
I will no longer accept your excuses and lies,
Listen to me, now, Good-Bye, Josh, Good-Bye!
