A Mothers Sin

Topic: SadPoetry

***
A mothers sin
Is neglecting her children
A mothers mistake
Is leaving her children in heartache

Mommy why do you do this to me?
Why haven't I talked to you lately?
Mommy why are you never home?
Did you know I'm suffering from Bipolar syndrome?

Don't you even care?
Are you even aware
Of the pain I go through
Just to keep up with you?

I don't even remember the last time
You ever said anything nice
Or gave me any advice
In my eyes you have committed a crime

Just you wait and see
Someday
You'll hit replay
And dramatically ask yourself why
I chose to tell you goodbye

I love you mommy
And so do the rest of your children
Even though you've committed
A mothers sin!

I simply cannot understand a mother that can neglect her children for any reason. Even if she can't be with them she should make sure someone is there to care for and nurture them. I agree that it is a sin. One that I don't think I could forgive.

i know the feeling. my mother is never around. i've been cutting myself for years and she's never noticed. some of my friends suggest that i have depression and they don't even know about the cutting, and yet she doesnt notice.

This is indeed the saddest sin a mother can commit, and it's a sad thing to read about as well. You've expressed your pain very well here.
