Swimming silent in an ocean so vast,
Listening for the sounds of their prey.
Their favorite meal, a fat seal swims fast,
Swimming silent in an ocean so vast.
A trademark of black and white to contrast,
The fin of this creature can be seen by day,
Swimming silent in an ocean so vast,
Listening for the sounds of their prey.

Wow. This is cool. I love how you say so much in so few words. I can picture the whale. They are fascinating creatures, aren't they?

Awesome! I grew up within a mile of Sea World, California... and sometimes all the merchanidised "Shamu" items make one forget about the true speed and stealth of these beautiful whales. (But ohh... Shamu is so sweet!)
Thank you for reminding us of their deadly majesty, as well. My sister in law would love this! |

Lovely poem about an original subject.
Whales are beautiful animals... and mysterious somewhat.
Keep writing. |
