Night flight.

Swathed in velvet, deepest black
scarlet cushions at my back,
ribbons of moonlight abound
through painted shutters,
tracing silver patterns
in every shadow found.
Silently rising in the dawn
clothed in raiments
of dark silk and golden cobwebs,
riding out into the solar titans eye
I am again reborn!
Awaking to reality
the morning sun beckons,
but my soul is still asleep
in the land that was painted
by my inner heart.
Under my pillow, a star,
a reminder of a night flight
and of another date to keep tonight!
