Isn't the Cicada the insect that matures beneath the ground for seven years and when it reaches maturity and the ground reaches a certain temp. they come aground once every seven years and this is the year?
I can't remember if that is the one but I was thinking yes.

I have to agree with the elders. My grandfather told me they make so much noise because they are so happy in the evenings when the moisture comes at sundown that they celebrate with music. LOL.
