For many days she's sat there
In this place she's come to find peace
Her mind drifts to a better place
Not of mansions or castles by the sea
More towards modern homeliness
Where her heart is waiting patiently
A home of simple extravagence
A place where wisdom speaks
For in this home of many rooms
Her heart has found it's place
The carpets all but ancient
But still warms the tenants feet
Hardened walls with pale shades of paint
Still hold protection from the weather
In the corner of a corner room
Sits a 4 foot wooden desk
Covered with several years of collections
It's signs of wear are signs of work accomplished
In the broke-in desk chair sits a man
Unaware of the heart he's captured
He sits and stares at a screen that's blank
Except for the face smiling back at him
His spirit keeps her moving
His smile makes her melt
There's many miles in between them
But the seperation's not that far
For her heart has found it's solice
With the man in that simple modern home

Such simple and sweet sentiments. I'm surprised no one has commented on this. Good write! |
