I sat and talked to the rain last night
As it smacked against the blacktop streets
Glistening from the amber street lights
Filling the air with the odor of freshness
I sang with the shadows at dawn
As they crept up from the ground
The horizon burst with orange and pink
The sounds of nature played on
I held hands with the moon this eve
As it sat amongst the stars
There was sadness in it's scarred surface
Yet it still smiled down on me
I looked into your eyes yesterday
I did again today and I will tomorrow
You hold a glance that will forever melt me
You're smile holds me gently
Two arms that protect me
And a laugh that infects me with joy I've never known
You are my rain when I am thirsty
My Shadow when I am frightened
And my ever present moon when I am lonely
