Dark Poetry is Absolutely Delicious

Topic: DarkPoetry

What is dark poetry?
Where has it been living and frequenting
While I’ve been staying at my apartment?
Only my family and whatnot come to visit me,
I haven’t answered the call of any dark poetry.
Which almost saddens me
Since I’ve an overly sweet tooth
That bites chocolate ever so
Gently
Reverently
Naw, I haven’t noticed being noticed by any dark poetry.
I’d imagine he would come to me
Magnet drawn by my afro’s soft curly call.
And the not quite always flirty walk of
My hips about the earth
My tongue spread in rich laughter
Be entranced by my eyes
Sometimes lidded by novels and autobiographies.
I’d ask him casual slash triumphantly
Have you read A Choice of Weapons yet?
And if he said yes,
I’d give him mine and my Momma’s number
Just in case
I’d like to have some dark poetry at the dinner table
Try to uncover over supper what he’s made of and into
And let myself
Well, go on and do her own thing
Man, I’d just love to rap to some dark poetry.
So imagine me awestruck by the irony of this category
I was looking for a way to download my own images of this
Nubian royalty
Wait? I mean,
You couldn’t possibly mean dark…
As in…
BAD???????

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
