REUNION OF HEARTS

Contributed by lovingcritters on Tuesday, 6th July 2004 @ 06:32:08 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Yours truly with my favorite Author,
Dick McQuisten, a classmate of over 50 years.

"REUNION OF HEARTS"

Tossing our hats in the air.............
Hearts full of hope, n'er a care!
Off to college or new summer job.....
Possible marriage to our "Heartthrob!"

Adventures for some, others homebound.
Our hearts, could they make a rebound?
Who was thinking of "Hearts," at this time?
New places, friends, schools, a whole lifetime?

Wide open arms embraced a huge new world.
Taking advantage of every opportunity.
Young, energetic--fears, doubts, to the wind hurled.
Never flinching, looking life in the face squarely!

In a few years, many disappointments appear....
Failure, unsuccessfulness, split marriages, illness severe?
Our dreams vanish, brought to naught, some defeated.
Character is formed, tenacity, determination, hearts molded.

Years hurry by, our hearts are our seat of motivation.
A time of discontent, discomfort, discouragement, idealism dampen.
Who has enough "Heart," to weather life's storm?
Could you maintain your warm love, or did it grow lukewarm?

Reunion of hearts, class reunions prove to be.
So satisfying to observe hearts of two score and twenty.
No one can imagine what we all experienced to be here?
Secret of a happy life, they bring their salvaged hearts,
to love others so dear!

We come together to hug each other's hearts, and souls.
Remembering and praying for those that passed on, consoles.
Hugging each other's "Hearts," to encourage, inspire, reassure.
"I'll be here next year, stay brave, keep "Heart!"
My warm loving hug will help you to endure!"

"It is one of the blessings of old friends that
you can afford to be stupid with them."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~

"Delightful Reunion Smiles!"

P.S. "My hair is not blonde.....
It's white as snow!" (Just couldn't stand the
thought of being the "Dumb Blonde!")
*smiles*
