The Collector of my Unshed Tears

Contributed by Delusions_of_Grandeur on Tuesday, 16th July 2002 @ 10:53:26 AM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

Inside my mind
am but a child
outside I may be stone
but inside I am innocent
and know no better
or no worse.
Inside their is a room
where my toys are locked away
it is there where i retreat
there is where I stay.
I can sit alone
to play
I can think
I can pray,
but most of all
I go inside
to sit alone and cry.
I hang my head
overt my eyes
and let the black tears flow,
because inside
I don't have to hide
I can let my feelings show.
I can sense your presence,
INTRUDER!
FIEND!
why did you follow me?
do you wish to scorn my sorrow?
or just laugh at me?
But all you do
is reach for my face
holding your cupped hands forth,
and instead of your sweet embrace
you just collect my falling tears
letting them pool together
with yours.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
