Your eyes are open like your looking at me
But I don't think you really can see.
That my mind is wrapped in cellophane
Struggling,smothering from all this pain.
You say that you were a good father
So how come I always felt like a bother.
You say you love me like you should
I think you only loved me when you could.
There were always other things occupying your time
Women,drugs,whores and other slime.
Never time for my siblings and me
Always living the life of a bachelor fancy and carefree.
Money to spend how you wanted to
But never enough for us kids,we knew.
You always needed it to support your addictions
Never caring about us or having any convictions.
That what you might be putting yourself through
May be affecting other lives too.
So I ask you now even if it's too late
Is this really what you saw as your fate.
Dying before you grew old
Leaving all these questions for me to hold.
Dad what I really want you to know
Is even though I was mad I NEVER wanted you to go.

This is really sad, but I love the last verse...
