this road we face

Contributed by socialmisfit on Tuesday, 6th July 2004 @ 02:39:03 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

This road I'm on
Where does it end?
So many places it could lead to inside of my head
In the silence of the morning,
See the night slur into dawn,
Hear the slow great winds arise
Where tall trees flank the way
And branches reach toward the sky.

The broken boulders by the road
Shall not commemorate my ruin.
Regret shall be the gravel under foot.
I shall watch for you,
my fellow companions
The only thing I'm sure of on this road,
That you'll be here to trudge alongside me
In everything I go through
And I'm also here for you too,
No matter what you or I do

Sometimes I just get sick of this road, this road called life
Full of injustice, jealousy, and strife
The only thing I'm never sick of is the random stranger that is you
Here for me no matter what I do
My heart is filled with love,
Love for you and everyone else
Because when I stumbled on this road,
You were here to catch me when I fell
and in turn i did the same with you
Now that you're with me, I hope this road never ends
If I could I'd start at the beginning again
And I'd start it with you

One day I wanna walk ahead of you
shuffling my feet
And make the path a little smoother for you
As you have done for me

As we keep walking,
Let this road guide us, let it show us which ways to go,
Let us rely on each other to figure things out
And if you stumble, I'll catch you before you fall
And make sure you never fall again

If anyone should doubt our reason
for plodding along this road
We'll simply say,
"Take it on, day by day, and toe to toe"

And if this road should ever end
I'd like to end it with you
So that on this road called life, we can make it through
Through to a better beginning, than the last
And learn from our mistakes, forgetting the past
All the paths on this road lead by you
So stay with me please,
And we'll help each other make it through
though we may arrive battered and bruised
Over the bridge and through the gates
Onto this road called life
to find our eternal place
and to finally meet
"Him" face to face
