When the rain falls from the sky outside,
And lightning flashes across the countryside,
When the wind blows through the trees,
I remember that my heart belongs to you,
And I fall upon my knees
Your love for me is beyond words
And I know not what to give in return
All I have is myself, and nothing more
I wish there was a way to let you know
That our time apart leaves scars that do not show
When we are apart, for what may seem a short time
My insides are torn, because your heart is mine
Our love exists, as pure as your soul
And as true as these tears, cold on my face
With out you, I will be empty and hollow
As meaningless as a rose with out pedals

i love this poem. i like the use of wide vocabulary and similies to express certain aspects.
