In a cemetery...
On a stormy night
The wind is blowing
and the moon is the only light.
From within the center
of this hollowed ground
The cry of a child
A little girl deep underground.
I walk towards the sound
A statue by her grave
An angle bleeding tears
Crying for the little girls sake
In this cemetery
I hear the little cries
Is it a child that was left for dead
Or the girl that has already died.
First the day, then the night.
Take me into heavens light.
Say my prayers, go to bed.
lord bless me if I wake up dead.
Dreaming of, melody’s.
Guide me and comfort me.
Ashes, all around.
Cover me when I’m deep underground.
There is no way it is real
the child has long been dead
died in nineteen o nine
This here is two-thousand and six
In the pale moonlight
The fainted carvings
on that wooden tombstone
That the years have withered away.
I see a faint image
peer from behind the statue
A little girl just standing there
In a long white dress
She just sits there
and starts to sing
begins to skip away
disappears and leaves a melody.
First the day, then the night.
Take me into heavens light.
Say my prayers, go to bed.
lord bless me if I wake up dead.
Dreaming of, melody’s.
Guide me and comfort me.
Ashes, all around.
Cover me when I’m deep underground.
