I’m normal,
I have a normal family,
Normal friends,
A normal job,
But today isn’t normal,
I clean the floors at the factory,
The usual sounds of the machinery around me,
As I move around the factory I hear more familiar sounds,
Not ones I like,
Like the sound of a chicken losing its head,
Quite literally,
Then a sound I haven’t heard before,
A gigantic roar followed by screams,
I see a huge shadow around the corner,
I peek around the corner,
Before me is a giant beast,
Devouring the workers,
With out knowing I lift up my broom,
Then I run towards the beast,
I swing at the monster,
The brush end of my broom shatters,
I’m left with a crude spear,
The beast knocks me back,
I land with a thud on the broken machines,
I Jump,
I drive my broom in to the creature,
It lets out a final roar,
And dies,
The workers begin to cheer at me for what I had done,
Within the cheering I could hear a faint sound that got louder and louder,
Until it was in my ears hurting my head,
I turn and turn off my alarm clock,
6am,
Time for work,

I would do the same, I guess. I've been having weird dreams of late, but I don't work in a factory with a broomstick - so there's no headless chickens or man-eating monsters for me.
I would have liked a descriptor of the monster - if you remember what it looked like, that is. No problem if you don't - you managed to describe to me your dream procedure very well.
Well captured. |
