“Start What I’ve Ended”
When the trees start to sway,
My heart gives way,
To the way we would always laugh.
But now things have gone truly wrong,
All the hurt is held in one song.
My life is in the ditch,
But I’ll give it one last pitch.
All I want to do is get back my friends,
Just remember me in all your ends.
Look through it all and see that I still feel lost without you.
The tears fall and flood the sorrow.
Life has changed before my eyes as I cry.
I cannot say I’m sorry enough.
I cannot say I don’t love you.
But I cannot live without you.
Start something I’ve ended.
Start a new life for me so I should see you’re not meant for me.

You communicate your voice's lonliness very well, and caught my empathy, too. It left me with so many questions, "What happened?, Why can't you make the first effort? Did you try?" I think these are more directed to your explanation than to the poem though. Hah! My brain gets quite nosy sometimes! LOL
Leaving off that we know the circumstances, your sorrow and regret come through crystal clear. Great job, Thanks POABS!
P.S. Does the last line imply that the relationships were romantic/intimate? I am having trouble with connecting the desired response - the recipient's effort to "start over" with you - or reach out - to the ending line "So I should see you're not meant for me." Even striking the knowledge of your loss of close friendships, I am confused by this. But its good poetry that makes the reader ask questions of it. Thanks again for sharing!
