7 o’clock, Wednesday night, and I’m wonderin’
Why he’s always talkin’ to her
His name is Jose; he’s a sophomore with some talents
He acts dim-witted, but I’m not quite sure what it means

And when he’s there,
The people gaze and angels sing
Why would he notice me?

He’s watching baseball
Envied by the dumb guys
Listening to John Mayer
Victories in his eyes
It’s like a dumb movie
He’s lookin’ through me
If you were me, then you’d be
Screamin’ “Someone shoot me!”
As I screw up sadly
Tryin’ to get the guy that only I want
Yeah, he’s the guy that only I want

He likes the Cubbies and I like the Yankees
His wardrobe’s filled with what all the jocks wish they had
He said he’d like score before he dies at an old age
I doubt he’ll see that I’m the best he’ll ever have

And when he’s there,
The people gaze and angels sing
Why would he notice me?

He likes them with a nice body
Six Flags season pass
Drivin’ in a Mustang
Why’s he such a shallow man?

It’s like a dumb movie
He’s lookin’ through me
If you were me, then you’d be
Screamin’ “Someone shoot me!”
As I screw up sadly
Tryin’ to get the guy that only I want
He’s the guy that only I want
He’s the guy that only I want
He’s the guy that only I want

There he goes again
With that hat on and buzz cut hair
He broke my heart, I wanna be dead
All I wanted was to be in his head…

Now I’m watching baseball
Avoiding all the dumb guys
Listening to John Mayer
Victories in my eyes
It’s like a dumb movie
He’s lookin’ through me
