I don’t fully understand the thoughts inside;
I’ve never been one to sit back and hide.
I don’t have much to offer, but if I did,
I’d make you happy to have your life to live.
If I were a painter; then again, no,
Or some dancer in a strange traveling show…
I know this isn’t much, but it’s all I can do;
I can only write; and this one’s for you.
And you can tell everyone: this was written for you.
This may be simple, but it’s well done.
I hope you don’t mind; I hope you don’t mind,
How I put into words;
How much I enjoy life when you’re in my world.
I sat in our room, and wiped off the dust;
I’ve been wondering if our old habits have turned to rust.
But the year’s been quite nice, as I wrote this poem;
I write for people like you; those who make me feel at home.
And just for that, I forgive you for any petty things you do;
Even when you won’t know if my eyes are green or blue…
Anyway, what I really truly mean,
Is that you’re the greatest person I’ve seen.
And you can tell everyone: this was written for you.
This may be simple, but it’s well done.
I hope you don’t mind; I hope you don’t mind,
How I put into words;
How much I enjoy life when you’re in my world.
I hope you don’t mind; I hope you don’t mind,
How I put into words;
How much I enjoy life when you’re in my world.
