Killing Us Inside
I didn't know
What one word
Could mean
To someone
Until it was said
To me freely
And I remember
The scorn I had
At the word
How could anyone
Feel that burn?
Until it was said
To me again
I still don't deserve it
The word isn't mine
So I let it pass me by
A regret of my life
I let love pass me by
To another person
I still don't deserve it
But I regret not deserving
That one thing in life
Love burning me
Till I die
That one thing in life
Passed me by
And you regret
Ever loving me
Love burning us
Till we die
As that one thing
Passed us by
The love burns inside
The regret is mine
Killing us inside
Is what passed us by
Till we die
