|
My love and I walk hand in hand.
We set our chairs on lakeshore’s sand.
The darkened sky sends wintry wind.
The summer’s thickness has been thinned.
With friends around and fam’ly too.
It’s odd ‘cause all I see is you.
The sky goes black, the crowds abuzz
My brow contracts, brain’s full of fuzz
He asks, “What’s wrong?” And hugs me close
I laugh and say “A double dose”
Now his brow furrows, he’s confused.
His thoughts aflow, his looks bemused.
I laugh again and smile real wide
He wonders if I’ve gone tongue tied
I tell him what I know is true
That doubled are the sparks we’ll view
He asks if I have gone insane
And I articulate my brain
“The fireworks are lovely, yes
But with them I am not impress’d
“They’re much less pretty in the skies
Than when we’re kissing with closed eyes
That’s when those sparks are really sweet
That sensation just can’t be beat”

My Scintillating Crescendo came out of a night of seeing fireworks. But I know that the kind that God creates---both in the sky and on this earth are the best. Bravo, my friend. Bravo!

Tender and passionate at the same time... you just can't top that! I enjoyed this, Chelsea - and agree wholeheartedly... fireworks in the sky certainly pale by comparison!
