Shifting through the mountains of decay
All that remains of the pines, and where I’d lay
Recalling the vision of what I used to be
Whispering of a life, I never wanted to see
The creaks and cracks of the branches
My somber lullaby, stirred in the ashes
Fickle fingers fumble with the black and gray
Watching in sweet oblivion, the wind take it away
Bending with the breeze, and breaking so simply
Watching with amazement, a comfort zone’s fragility
Leaving the ashes as ashes, and softly stepping aside
Deep passion brewing, no place for my emotion to hide

Oh! I like this an awful lot! This truly is rich... thought provokingly rich!
Fickle fingers fumble with the black and gray
Watching in sweet oblivion, the wind take it away
The entire piece is terrific... but these two lines carried me off. Extremely well done!
