Every Long Road Ends

Topic: goodbyepoetry

My hands
That once held you
Are now clenched fists
The fact is
Now your there
Iam here
There two different places
And bear so many different faces

The air was cold
You kept me on hold
You suck my life
From out my veins
My eyes did tear
My heart did sink
Why all the time
I did not think

While other snakes shed their skins
Some hold onto them
The chameleon
The basilisk
The controller
A *****
I still can’t decipher
What you haven’t said

You hands are around my throat
They don’t shake off
You’re holding me down
You’re forcing my life
They are hard and cold
From being so soft
Once velvet and subtle
Now concrete and bold

I learnt to put down my pen
Then wrote you such magnificent poems
Now scribes the hate Ive repressed
Even though I realised that history was on my side
I cant understand how out love died
It was love that was crazy
But if I don’t go crazy I will loose my mind
A saw everything before me
Even then I was still blind

Flying high on your gallows
Drugged up madness
You think you’ve owned me
Stick all the indecent shopping malls
Time is right for a new girl
Ive readied myself
You’ve come along way from the right
Died and been led toward the evil light
Now I can leave with the remainder of my wealth

This is my final goodbye
To the girl I used to know
Now its time to start anew
This is my poem to leave you
To stamp you out
To write a new letter
Others want me more
And I know they will be better
Without a shadow of a doubt

I don’t love you anymore
