My city of sorrow

I saw myself today.....
Lying in a darkened range
I've wondered.... what has become
of the person......I once was
I'd walked it..... plenty of times
This city........... this place of mine
And I still search, today....
For the times when things would go my way
For the life that was to be.......
....The life my mind repeats to me....
What answers......... have to be found
on this............. the lifeless ground
What would........ have to be done
For this............ what would have to be won....
And I still search my city
Not seeking one ounce of pity
But hurting just the same
....As I stand there in the rain......
I saw myself today........
Lying in a darkened range
Of what life........ did I borrow
......Here in my City of Sorrow.......

I liked this poem. Because of the inner questions and the style.
