my plate is full of (broken dishes)

my plate is full of
(broken dishes)
empty wishes
dreams that seem to scream
(it's not a dream)
i wake to Nothing
but i'm not alone
holes in the wall
(a broken home?)
i stare out
a room without
much of a view
all i see is a sea of people
staring right back at me
(the promised "forever"
is only as long
as it takes for the knife
to reach the heart)
your words are storm clouds
raining (your bull*****) down on me
my words are sharp debris
in the twister of your intellect
(never safe)
empty
our house (tomorrow)
our bed (tonight)
our hearts (forever)

this poem evokes restless anger that comes with the end of a relationship - nothing seems right or like it will ever feel right it again -
well done - great word play
