Purple Skies

selfstruggles

Creeping in
Stealing late night kisses
Directing
My new found passion
Purple nights
Made black
By a man who should not have been there
Many years later
My purple nights
Still suffer from your sin
So unsure
Of all that I do
Who else
Did you do this to?
A stolen kiss
She
Four years younger
Than me
Stolen innocence
drained childhood
Purple nights
Now made guilty
How could I forget
That your sin
Followed her
Now,
Your shadow creeps in
Stealing late night sleep
As I try to forgive
Myself.
Turned to black
By the haunting
Memory
Of a man who should not have been there.
