Wasn’t it just too familiar, and overwhelming
To get lost in an entirely recognizable feeling
Those feelings of being tied down, and left to decay
Watching everyday as our loyalty slowly strays
Slowly all words were lost, and we stood quiet
Not wanting a word, to cause harm to the moment
Every night, my heart telling me to let go
But the look in your eyes keep telling me no
I slowly grew tired of ripping you apart
Even though you still held me within your heart
I couldn’t bear to cause you anymore pain
That’s why I let go that night in the rain
I let you return to home that was no longer warm
No longer filled with laughter, just verbal harm
As we seemed more content with making war
The presence of silence was to much to ignore

Oh wow, Jase, this made me cry... because it seems I'm on the receiving end of a very similar situation right now...
Still love your writing hon, never stop! ;) |
