She Sits

Contributed by pixie on Friday, 2nd July 2004 @ 10:34:49 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

She sits so perfectly still,
Upon the painted window sill,
Longing to venture outside,
Instead of being locked up & confined.

Her room has become her prison,
Chances to break free have arisen,
But she sits looking so forlorn,
Twisting her hair that looks like corn.

For years she has feared the world,
She has become a frightened little girl,
All her friends have stopped calling round,
Because to the house she is now bound.

Her house used to be full of noise,
Of all the playful girls & boys,
But all that is now a distant memory,
She feels like everyone’s her enemy.

How she hates living with her fear,
Every night she cries a woeful tear,
This shouldn’t happen to a child,
Her parents can’t recall when she last smiled.

Sometimes she feels like dying,
When she can’t stop the crying,
She longs to go outside & play,
But agoraphobia stands firmly in her way

This is a debilitating severe problem for many people in this world. I hope you are slowly overcoming it and finding a solution.

Hugs,

Krissy this was a lovely write.
You seem to be able to use words with much ease. How I admire that.
