Oh Heavenly Sunset that Shall Rise in the Morn!

Waves of lavender,
Lining of gold,
The setting sun
Knows what the future holds.
Scarlet streaks,
'Gainst a coral wash
Tend to speak,
Of hope in our lives.
The sun, the sun,
Like the Egyptian phoenix,
Dies down as it sets,
But is reborn as it rises.
Pinkish-purple, misty clouds
Waft up to the Heavens,
Oh, Heavenly glow of the setting sun,
Gently ceasing to be.
The sun's glow is to an angel's halo
As the lavender clouds are to its wings,
As are the herald angels
Of a fresh new day.
