Innocence Dreaming
Come closer and I will tell a childish story so innocent and new
Of winged little faerie folk dressed in bright Elfin red, green and blue
Magical Fairies who lived in our garden, and kept us safe from all fear
A happy little Elfin family so worldly wise, living life so peacefully near
Home was a little crooked Fairy tree-house, magically all covered in moss
Flying in and out on dragonfly steeds greedily eating sticky pink fairy floss
Always alert watching for black storm clouds that thunder and rain will bring
Dressed ready for action when the forked lights flashed in the dark rainy evening
When the thunder roared with jagged lightning flashing crashing in the dark night
With our courage gone, we tossed rumpled bedclothes over our heads with fright
Hard Rain smashing on thin window panes and us all a tremble with childish fear
Hoping, crying and praying that someone would save us and hold us lovingly near
While the storm raged, the kind Fairies came to our bedrooms and beds as well
Smiling Fairy friends whispering, be brave! be brave! A fairy tale we will tell
Of warm glades, pink mushrooms and fairy rings, of puffballs all wind blown
Golden threads of spider webs and bright spotted toadstools magically grown
Round shining dew drops on wet grass and glow- worms blinking at dusk
Elves & Imps hiding in secret forest valleys heavily scented with sweet musk
Serenely peaceful, tired fairy children watching fireflies flashing, flitting about
Of Magic spells as old as time driving fear and terror away, fading them out
Old elfin cobblers, with work worn hands making fairy shoes & magic toys
Listening to soft lulla-byes sweetly sung to drowsy little fairy girls and boys
Of Faerie folk dancing under the bright silver stars and a big yellow moon
The lilting song of the night lark, midnight magic making fairy lovers swoon
Gossamer winged Fairy mothers with tiny fairy babes from bosoms peeping
Peaceful slumber at last, storm gone , shh.! quietly dreaming, tranquil sleeping!
Fairies live in our garden still and forever Will!

That was truly epic and beautiful to read, I'm still reeling from the great imagery in there. Very well done. |
