To Only Hope

Contributed by angelrae on Thursday, 1st July 2004 @ 10:04:18 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I was born this person, I am me.
I had no control over the Potter who created and molded me, the person I am suppose to be.

I am this person that I know at times,
Having so much life inside my soul, tuned so fine.
To only hope my spirit will never die.

Wanting to do what is right,
Fighting this battle between good and evil with all might.
To only hope for strength to know the path I must take.

Having my soul to be lonely in many ways,
Not understanding why this happens as if stuck in a maize.
To only hope for courage to be steadfast and faithful.

This spirit the Potter has given me so bright,
Afraid of growing old ,the ending of light.
To only hope for wisdom to live each day the best I can.

I need to accept the person that I am to be,
Accepting this spirit the Potter has created inside me.
To only hope I will do what is right in the eyes of my Potter.

Please, begging, pleading, with you, my Potter,
To act upon what I know, not what I feel, having ups and downs like a teeter tauter.
To only hope for help and guidance on this earth, to live obediently, praising the Potter who created and molded me.

Wonderful write! I like its allusions to Romans, struggling between the old and new man. It is so wonderful we can cling to our Potter, God the Father. Submit youself to God daily, and He will mold.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
