Fathers Day

Dear David & Granddad,

Today is Fathers Day,
There are things ~ We should say,
Thank You for being there,
Quietly showing that you care,
Always lending us a hand,
Trying your best to understand,
Paying the bills when we were broke,
Saying nothing and almost choked,
For family trips with grandkids,
They loved everything that you did,
For taking the time to explain,
The “whys and whens” with no disdain,
You’ve left your mark on our hearts,
You’ve enhanced our lives from the start,
Even when we were wrong,
You always tried to get along,
I am sorry for my ways,
Especially in my younger days,
Thank you for forgetting all,
For picking us up when we fall,
Thank you seems to little to say,
But know that you’re loved this Fathers Day!
