______________
terrified in the heat of afternoon
chilled to the bone, boredom
eats brain cells and spits out ideas
strewn across the grass
a trail of half chewed thoughts
dangle lifelessly from trees
a breeze stirs them, but not to life
all but forgotten in dreams
despair filling in the blanks
footsteps ring hollow
gliding from day into night
anger bangs against the walls
echoing down the river
on its way to the sea
greedily devoured by tides
who ridicule thunder with a constant roar
still the thunder comes
