Rìanna

Topic: mythology

Angamachel am
Celdeth tama
Cassachel na mael
Vànad trom nan dilen
Dànnad creitheth cuill
Lànad finda.

Faithachel am e
Talvach sleinna el
Cassachel nicenness
Dànnad tai nan connan
Tanachath finda
Crissech taenun tìrel.

Creithed faitha
Fìach rìanna truich
Ànan sèinna cuill
Faimach trom nan connan
Sèinness finfàra
A cenndech ràn na nèill.

As I was walking
In peaceful forest
I saw the sunlight
Shining through the leaves
Dancing on slender aspen stems
Glimmering whitely.

As I watched it
I fell to dreaming
I saw a maiden
Dancing beside the trees
In a mantle of white
Encircled by starfire.

My gaze faltered
The nymph was gone
But a slender music
Echoed through the trees
An Elvish melody
That only the wind recognized.

arden said it best, "Enchanting." It was very beautiful, like a filtered reality. I'm really enjoying your poetry very much. It's refreshing, and I love the perspective you're coming from. Excellent.

No need to repeat what you've written in your past life, Andrew. Tinuviel is better than Rìanna, anyway.
But very good. I'm getting used to being amazed by your improvement as a writer.
Take care.
David

Oh, Andrew - I can only echo the words in the comments above. Enchanting... beautifully done! You are a wonderful gift to romantic souls... leaving us sighing and swooning for having read your work! Could it be any better than that?

Finding peace in knowing there are poets like you in the world,

Wonderful work...
You seem to be able to understand what the leaves whisper and the wind sighs...
Magnificent.

I have only two criticisms:
1. The repeat of the word "slender"
2. I'd leave out "that" at the beginning of the last write.
Otherwise you have a perfectly beguiling write here. Very, lovely and enjoyable.

I love how you wrote it in both languages...espcecially how you wrote your language first; it set the mood for the peaceful poem. I loved the personification in the first stanza, and Ithink starfire is a cool word. You definitely have a way with grasping the few beautiful words we do have in the English language and forming them into a graceful piece. (Ahhh...think if we were French!?!?) Well done, very mystical.
