Fallen From Grace

Contributed by lil_angel on Tuesday, 22nd October 2002 @ 08:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

The fire burned so bright
I thought I had a chance to win this fight
I tried to stay true
But now I am feeling blue

I let the fire die in only a few short days
Now that price is what I have to pay
For I broke my word and did that what I promised I would not
I once was spotless but now I have an ugly scarlet spot

Now all I have to do is stand up, brush off my halo, and turn back to what is right
And call out to my Lord in the day and night
For I am not the scum of the earth that I feel
I am forgiven and that is a feeling that is real

I am just an angel fallen from grace
Went running at my own pace
Going back to the Lord’s side
So I can walk around with his pride
