Tell Me What To Do

Contributed by Silent-No-More on Thursday, 1st July 2004 @ 12:42:24 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Taste the fear
That seeps out of me
Swallow it whole
Sympathetically

Tell me not to care
So much
And I will try
To listen

I’ll scream first
Ignore you
Frustrate you
Blame you
But, eventually
I’ll try
A little
Maybe

(Maybe not)

See the echoes
Bouncing inside me
Blind me then
Ignorantly

Tell me it’s time
To move on
And I will try
To adhere

I’ll flail first
Disregard you
Irritate you
Resent you
But eventually
I’ll try
A bit
Maybe

(Maybe not)

Seriously
Tell Me
Yell at me
Wreck me

Really
I want you to
And you want to
So...

Tell Me!
So I can
Get on with
Telling you no

This is one of those that needs to be read aloud to get a feel for the passion within. Great poetry.

This is really an awesome poem, Snem. And boy, wow, I can totally relate to this one too. Ceptin' I'm relating it to someone else in my life...and especially that day...the day it was posted...it's the day before her birthday and interestingly enough....I eventually started having these exact same thoughts.

You state things so brilliantly.

May I hire you as my speech writer? ;-)
