They say ties bring instant respect
For me it’s not what you’d expect
They look and see a boy with a tie
Then smirk at me and say nice try
He cant hide, this boy with a tie
He just gulps and swallows the lie
Singled out alone in the room
With crazy loneliness consumed
Gathered at a distance they stare
And close by pretend not to care
village vandals laugh when they can
But they’re scared he works for the man
professional folks think he’s cute
But for the record must refute
As if! He’s not one of my guys
He’s only a boy with a tie
