The Mushball Middle

Contributed by CodyJ on Wednesday, 30th June 2004 @ 05:31:43 PM in AEST
Topic: political

What ever happened to the middle?
The middle of the donut?
The Middle Ages?
The middle earth?
And now the middle class?
The left and the right.
A continuous fight
to control our country
get lost in their ideals.
They don't know how it feels.
To share a little with each
and get lost in the middle.
It's like a great riddle,
how do I get those suckers on my side?
I get my knowledge from the Daily Show,
I read the papers and feel anger grow,
but what am I supposed to do?
My electoral is undisputed,
the politicians are polluted,
but they all seem the same anyways.
So I'll sit in the middle,
join all the other disillusioned millions,
(who could decide an election by the way)
and take bets on who'll win the fight,
the left or the right?

My opinion of this presidential race is the only hope we have is that we choose the lesser of the two evils. I don't have faith in either one of them. It is a scary thing.

Makes a lot of sense... I'm pretty much decided, but then certain drastic events could change my mind - but not movies, not people name-calling, not actors, not commercials, not majorities -- all that is just too normal political spectrum stuff. Not only are politicians out of touch with the average person, but in some ways we are out of touch with each other. And when we can all communicate with so many now, only the strongest personalities (negative and positive) get through, or so it would seem. Great poem!
