Seeds Scattered In The Wind
The day was warm and calm, only a hint of a breeze was in the air. In the vastness called space was a tiny seed named Dande. She was a small and gentle seed, carrying with her a parasol that allowed her to remain aloft. She was looking for a place to begin new roots, a hard choice to make. She wanted to remain free and float in time forever.
Over the valley's , fields and hills she traveled, going where ever the air carried her. At times the storms in their fury tossed her wildly about. The sun was hot, the rain would soak her and try to knock her down. But she was strong, and her name was Dande. She would not be brought down before her time.
At first she thought the drifting was fun, being able to float without a care was mostly a happy time. But, as the days passed she knew she had to make a decision, float until death or find that warm place to remain alive.
As she looked all around once more at what she would be leaving behind, out of the corner of her eye she saw him.... slightly larger, looking like a giant fluffy ball.
Just then a breeze pushed her closer and she being a bit flirtatious smiled and asked, "What is your name, my handsome friend?" He replied, "I have given myself the name of Lion. I was not sure what I was to be called."
Dande was amused, it caused her to smile and giggle. In doing so some of the ribs of her parasol shook loose! It was then she realized she was not only one, but many! A part of her could be in many places at one time. But who would "she" be? Lion was watching also, noting the look of wonder and surprise on her face, all the while thinking.."how can I be so lucky to find a friend who is so many things in one. I see beauty and laughter, adventure and love."
She glanced his way again, and saw that he was showing off his talents for her...doing little whirly spins that were rather fancy in nature. When she looked his way again they knew they had found the perfect solution as to what they had to do.
As he drifted closer to tell her so, a stronger breeze pushed them together and playfully they spent some time lazily floating together before they would leave this calm place they had called home for some time.
In a final farewell, they both held on to each other closely and let themselves sink slowly to the earth finding a refuge behind a sheltered spot. All that they were settled with them....love, sorrow, laughter and beauty. Together they set these things free, becoming forever known as, "Dandelion."
We are all as this seed, sometimes scattered in time revealing our hearts and souls to many. Sometimes we are pulled and tossed about, at times nearly destroyed. Other's in our lives will marvel at the beauty we display when we are in full bloom, still other's, will pick us and once more scatter us.
