Tell Me Reader

Contributed by pumpkinpie on Monday, 28th June 2004 @ 07:31:06 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

When your heart shines in the other's soul
And their qualities you can't help but extol
When starry eyes and twists of smiles become your bliss
And their heart has now become your private oasis

Tell me reader, can a love like this exist?

A song played for you, practiced to perfection
And every day a testimony of sincere devotion
Reese's peanut butter cups bought as a simple thought
To remind you the time spent apart, never were you forgot

Tell me reader, can a love like this be led to naught?

Three weeks later he says he must speak with you
He tells you that he doesn't feel you,and well you're through
He feels bad because he felt it a week after it all began
And never told you because he was afraid you wouldn't understand

Tell me reader, inside his heart, where did I stand?

He played with your emotions,a complete hypocrite
Day after day you fell deeper for him while on your heart he spit
Everything about him was a lie, nothing but a ***** lie
And when you truly did love him,the next day he bid you goodbye.

Tell me reader, why did it turn out so awry?

I'm torn to pieces by the void each hour brings to my heart without him
I can't see straight, his absence in my life makes it grim
I guess I just want an answer as to how someone can quit loving you from one day to the another
ANd how someone can create emotional torture.

Tell me reader why love is thoughtless?Because I,m losing hope..

I wish I knew the answers to all the questions you have asked, but I don't think anyone really ever knows. Love can be the most blissful feeling one moment, and be the most heartbreaking the next. It's one of lifes mysteries, I guess. Nice form of expression here, pumpkin.
Angel always...godspeed...joni

I forgot to mention something in my poem:

I know you won't read this but I thought I'd tell you
Just how much YOU HAVE HURT ME by your love untrue
And how destroyed you have left every part of me
And now I ask of God my heart and soul to detach itself,to be set free

well, in 'answer' dear poetess.......... you dont need the fool! and your not alone, i went through the same thing 6 months ago, and i almost moved to australia and boy would i have been unhappy right now, and the sook didnt tell me he no longer loved me like a man either, he was not real, he was not genuine, apparently theres a lot of this going around, they are cruel fools, anyone who strings your heart, mind and soul along for their own uncaring, selfish, oblivious reasons is not worth it, and then to act like 'oh no big deal' humpf. im so sorry your hurting sweetie, you deserve much better than he will ever be able to give, thankfully you found out now! {that didnt sink in with me until months later but honest, its true} i dont know what your looser's excuse was, but mine said to me it was my animals, {this after knowing me five years lol}, what a putz, accept us for who we are or hit the road, maybe those two could be roomates, lol, just smile, im trying to make you smile, your such a sweet, caring, loving, talented person, who loves animals and deserves the best in life, you know im here, hugs n' love n' bunny nose twitches:) nessa

((( Cindy))) I can honestly say I know exactly how you feel. To love someone so completely and have them then leave you high and dry is pure torture. Let me tell you though, you are a wonderful person worthy of someone who loves and cares for you in the way you deserve. We can't control the hearts of others my dear friend. I felt your pain in this write clear through to my soul.

Very well done
A dozen roses for you
Larry

It hurts, I know... but... it ends for a reason. Honestly, given what I know of the situation... I think you're better off. (I hate saying that, but... I do feel it and offer it only in hopes of easily the pain.) Oh, it will take time and it will feel awful for a while... but you will smile again, you will love again, and you will feel glad - one day - to have moved on. There is someone waiting that knows how to love you the way you should be loved. I honestly believe that.

This write is so well done and so true to where you are at the moment. I love the structure of it. Thanks so much for sharing so much.

*hugs to you*
SNM

I have felt such torture although not for some time. I'm not sure there is any pain so intense as feeling rejected by someone you love and whom you believe loved you. You expressed yourself very well, and used the off-color words effectively. They are part of working off that emotion. You are young still, and what you learn from such a terrible experience is so valuable. You are smart, too. You will emerge stronger and better prepared the next time romance strikes.
OK, I'll stop preaching. I can picture your face now, and it makes me smile. There are better places for you ahead.
Love,
Stitch

PumpkinPie, you pose such difficult questions with much longing for it to be answered.
I'm afraid the answers I'm unable to provide.
Still I love the emotions you poured out into this piece, I felt every word.
Great write.

That was not love but infactuation because love lasts and is not based on emotion.

Your poem was very heart felt and I understand how you feel.

Impeccable writing. How very unique and incredible. I love the way you ask the reader questions. I wish I had all the answers. All I can say is he sounds like a user and obviously did not love you. I believe true love can come quickly is some instances but it does not fade as it did here. Felt your pain, anger, & sorrow. This was truly an amazing poem. You have a gift.
