I Took

Contributed by Justalady on Monday, 28th June 2004 @ 01:57:28 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

I imagined the sky and painted it blue,
much like the way most children do.
A puff of white splashed just right,
brightness appeared, a beautiful sight.
I took a pen and wrote from the depth of me,
sharing a place inside few others will see.
Gates opened wide, emotions did seep,
secrets revealed, pain digging deep.
I took myself to a place deep within,
forgave myself of what I thought was a sin.
Comforting words I now hold and treasure
I now have the time, can savor in leisure.
I took a look where no mirror does hang
remembered a song that I once had sang.
My spirit was lifted, the melody sweet
I now can go forward, no need to retreat.
I took inspiration from friends I've not seen,
other's who hurt but still have a dream.
Why should I think I'm any different than they,
I excepted the love they give every day.

Very good, June. I have gone through many of these same things the past year. It is very uplifting to one's soul to realize you are not different. That everyone has trials and tribulations. I enjoyed this.

Well like they say, life is like a wheel it has its shares of ups and downs. How perceive our tribulations can very much affect our lives.
Great write.
