Rough Diamond

Topic: Lifepoems

I really do my very best,
To not get angry & not get stressed,
I bite my tongue when I get mad,
Try not to say things to make you sad.

I know hurtful things do tumble,
Out of my mouth & then we grumble,
But we always talk through our worries,
& Get back to loving in a hurry.

I have come such a long way,
By myself at the end of the day,
Sometimes I feel you’re getting at me,
You say you’re helping, but I fail to see.

I’ll always try my hardest for you,
In all I say & in all I do,
But it gets too hard for me now & again,
I need your support when I'm feeling the strain.

I feel you see the bad before the good,
But my name is no longer mud,
My efforts are not one bit fake,
I have learnt from my past mistakes.

I know my barrier is still there,
It’s coming down with your love & care,
I feel sometimes like I’m not good enough,
Please can you take the smooth with the rough?

I am a diamond with rough edges,
Although I trim my unkempt hedges,
I will always have a sharp tongue,
Also a temper that is 10 men strong.

But no-one could ever love you like I,
I really hate myself when I make you cry,
I’ll continue to give it my all,
Get back up when I’ve suffered a fall.

I just hope that tongue and temper don't slice too deeply one day. Emotional hurt can destroy love and respect. Keep that in mind, my dear. Physical pain leaves quickly, emotional pain can cut deeply and last forever. Is it worth it to take the chance?

Hugs,
Rita

great expression of feelings and so honest in your words, everyone gets upset and mad sometimes, we are all human, its what we do after angry times that counts, and maybe a long walk or hot bath to calm down first and avoid harsh words, who knows!? lol, i say what i feel when i do! hehe, hugs n' love nessa

Very good write but please take it easy on yourself. Don't take all the blame. I'm sure it's not yours alone.
I know 'bout the temper of ten men, mine use to be the worse and still could be if someone would mess with one of my children or grandkids. A person can mess with me and get away with alot but not my family.
Very good write but please don't let it get your self estem dowwn 'cause u r a very sweet-n-kind persona nd like me I'm sure u don't go off with out a very good rerason.
luv, huggs,
emy
