Shadows
I walk with you, a mimic of yourself.
Never really real, but real enough to exist.
When you move, I go along, following you unwaveringly.
When you run, I run with you, right there no matter how hard you try to lose me.
You bleed… And I falter.
For when you smile, I cannot.
When you laugh, I can make no sound at all.
But I exist, when circumstance allows.
But never as bright.
Never as real.
Just an image to be lost with the setting of the sun.
