~Be Yourself~

Invisible to the world, she tries to be herself,
No-one even looks her way, u don’t know how she felt.

She trys to change into something new, but still it does no good,
She thinks that it will make a difference, she wishes it really could.

But no-one bothers to take the time to see what she’s about,
She forces herself to get inside, but everyone pushes her out.

She holds her head up high & trys not to cry,
But only she knows, that the pain lives inside.

She puts on a smile & acts like nothing is wrong,
Though she already knows that she doesn’t belong.

She tells herself I changed so many ways to be what they might like,
But no-one even looks her way, why can't they see her inner light?

See that girl in the corner, the one begging for your friendship,
She changes everyday for you, & then you still don’t even notice.

So when she looks in the mirror & realizes that she is only herself,
She then knows that you can't change, you can only be yourself.
