I CAN BUT I CANNOT

Contributed by Hearts on Monday, 28th June 2004 @ 12:47:32 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

HOW CAN YOU SIT THERE
TELLING ME THESE FEELINGS ARE WRONG
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN THERE
NOY KNOWING IF ANYONE CARES
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN HURT
OR HAVE EVER REALLY CARED
i AM HERE SUFFERING
AS YOU TURN AROUND AWAY FROM ME
DID YOU PUSH THESE KNIVES INTO MY SPIRIT
DID YOU EVER STAND THERE AND WATCH
WHILE ANOTHER SHED HIS TEARS
HE IS THE ONE WHO LET YOU LIVE
TOSSING AND TURNING
SCREAMING IN THE NIGHT
DID EVER STOP TO THINK
HOW LOYAL i AM
AS YOU MASTERBATED OVER MY HEAD
MAKING A VICTIM OF YOUR UNJUST RULES
YOU KNEW i WAS HURTING AS I PUSHED YOU AWAY
SOME FRIEND YOU ARE
TO TELL SOMEONE TO ILL ME
AS I CRIED OUT IN VEIN
NOONE WAS THERE TO RESCUE ME
WHEN YOU PUSHED ME DOWN THOSE STAIRS
PUSH ALL YOUR NAILS INTO MY SKIN AS I AMM TAKEN AWAY
WAIT TILL JUSTICE IS SEEN IN ANOTHER VIEW
CAST ME INTO YOUR EMPTY WORLD
AS i AM ABLE TO FIND MY WAY OUT
NOONE CAN KEEP ME
FROM RUNNING FREE FROM YOU

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
