Dark.
Moon shadows pass along my fur.
With my nostrils I see you, and I'm coming.
A drop of saliva hangs from a fang.
Your blood will be my blood before the nocturnal sleep.
In the trees you hide.
I hear the wind pass through your hair.
The bark holds my claws and lifts me to you.
Slowly I am risen until I see you facing away.
Still creeping, you're sleeping, my lovely monkey.
Snap! Twig cracks. You see me behind your back.
Leap swift I lunge into my attack.
Smack! I land flat on my back.
I hear your hysterical laugh as I lie in pain.
Hungry.
The morning light burns my eyes.
With my tongue I lick my wounds.
With my ears I still hear your laughter.
