Old-fashioned Love

Black and white romance movies,
sweet words of 50's love songs,
these pleasant images and melodies
swarm throughout my mind
when you and I are together.
A true love worth cherishing
is the one within our hearts,
the rose-colored love tastes
rich and delightful upon our lips.
Separation by war, family, social class,
none of these factors could break,
harm or destroy,
our deeply lit love,
which glows so brilliantly.
Love's gentlest touch
has embraced our hearts,
stolen glitter from the stars
and placed sparkles in our eyes.
Nothing in this world
feels warmer or runs deeper
than the love inside our hearts,
what we share is true,
what we share is real.
