These Fairy Lights

These fairy lights come out at night
They flit and float and glow so bright
In red and blue and yellow white
The missing time is such a fright
Our island’s full of ghostly tales
Of warriors gone and boats a gale
But these round balls of fire and wit
Do taunt and strangely float and flit
On South Point’s landing do they sway
The ocean’s pounding gives away
To circles square and shapes galore
These gems they soar above the shore
I’ve heard they’ve traveled, far and wide
On Maui, and on North Shore side
You can’t escape, they follow you
As if they knew your Way was true…
But even so, I worry not
God’s on my side, I’m not forgot
These lights they try to frighten me
But fear’s my fiendish enemy
If you do travel to the Isles
Be not so troubled by these lights
Tune in the island’s warm beguiles
But ask me and I’ll show you sights!
