Tribute To The Bluebird

Contributed by Justalady on Sunday, 27th June 2004 @ 07:26:00 AM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

Sitting quietly upon her nest
a momma bluebird takes a rest,
while poppa sings a lovely tune
that makes even momma bluebirds swoon.
Soon her days are kept inside
while poppa watches with deep pride,
brings her food so she might stay
and hatch a brood one bright day.
Now they together fly in and out,
as baby bluebirds begin to shout
for food so that they too might be,
big enough to fly to a near by tree.
Then one day they venture through a tiny hole,
to a perch that seems like a big thick pole!
It's the first they see of this special world
as they leave the nest in which they curled.
Together for a few brief days together they fly,
the time of birth and family soon gone by.
So...watch for a moment, remember the tune you heard,
Admire the beauty of the Eastern Bluebird.
